The Commonwealth Bank aims to provide support to employees who have caring responsibilities for children and other family members.
Securing child care can be difficult and time consuming, so we support employees facing this situation by providing priority access to nominated childcare centres.
In conjunction with external child care providers, limited places at selected child care centres are available. We also offer a fringe benefits tax exemption to employees wishing to salary sacrifice childcare costs from one of our nominated childcare centres.
If someone is unable to secure a childcare place or if the location of one of our centres is unsuitable, additional free support is available through Work|Life Links, an information and resource service.
Through our association with Carers Australia, support is available for our people with caring responsibilities for those other than children.
Work|Life Links can also help our people source a range of products and services to assist those who are caring for family members with a disability or who are frail, aged or have a chronic condition.
Our Nursing Mothers’ Retreats have been designed to make life easier for female employees returning to work and wishing to continue breastfeeding or expressing milk in private and comfortable surroundings.
The Nursing Mothers’ Retreats are comfortably furnished, with baby change facilities nearby. They are also available to visiting partners.
We offer our employees a short-term confidential counselling service to help them deal with a variety of problems and concerns.

We have been measuring and voluntarily disclosing our energy use and greenhouse emissions since 2001.
