We offer our people a range of programs to help them stay healthy.
 

Health checks

The Commonwealth Bank (the Group) offers all permanent employees access to a free 20-minute health check. This confidential health assessment is designed to identify any areas that may present future health risks.

Everyone who has a health check receives relevant information and strategies to help reduce any risks. Participants benefit by receiving valuable information that can help them improve their health and vitality.

Health and Wellbeing

The Group’s Health and Wellbeing program offers a variety of services and initiatives to support the health and wellbeing of our people. From gym membership and equipment discounts, the Group offers employees a range of opportunities to be active and realise their personal fitness goals. Employees are able to enrol in lifestyle programs, through online health and support tools, which provide a library of information on diet, nutrition, exercise, and mental and physical health. 

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is also available to permanent employees and their immediate families, providing a professional, confidential short-term counselling service for personal, family or employment related concerns

We also offer a range of workshops aimed at improving health and wellbeing. Workshops cover areas such as stress management, exercise and fitness, nutrition, mental health and parenting.

Mental Health Programs

Mental health, particularly depression, is an area of focus in the Group’s diversity and wellbeing programs. We have entered into a partnership with The Black Dog Institute to deliver Effective Leadership in Mental Health programs to our people. This program consists of workshops specifically designed for the workplace, as well as supporting information.

CBHS is a not-for-profit health fund existing solely for its members.   CBHS has been providing a range of health cover options with competitive rates and generous benefits exclusively to employees of the Group and their immediate family since 1951.
