Opera Australia

We have supported Opera Australia since 1977 and helped to bring performances to thousands of Australians in metropolitan and regional areas.

Through our sponsorship of the ‘Opera for Students’ program, we subsidise ticket sales to secondary school students to help build their arts education and appreciation.

In 2008, the Commonwealth Bank has partnered with Opera Australia as Principal Sponsor of My Fair Lady – one of the world’s best-loved musicals. We are proud to support Opera Australia in delivering this spectacular production to audiences across Australia.

Australian Chamber Orchestra

The Commonwealth Bank has supported the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) since 1988 and helped it become one of the world’s finest orchestras.

In 1996, we purchased a rare Guadagnini Violin dating back to c.1759. To allow thousands of Australians to enjoy this violin, it is loaned to Helena Rathbone, Principal 2nd Violin and leader of the ACO’s Emerging Artists Program.
