In Wiradjuri, ‘Bangarra’ means ‘to make fire’ and Bangarra Dance Theatre has been setting the world of dance alight for 22 years. Today, they are widely considered Australia’s leading Indigenous arts company.
With every performance Bangarra celebrates the beauty, richness and resilience of Australia’s Indigenous culture. That makes Bangarra both a powerful force for reconciliation and a vibrant and exciting cultural experience for audiences around the world.
In 2008, artistic Director Stephen Page was recognised as NSW Australian of the Year for his role in nurturing generations of Indigenous dance artists.
We have sponsored Bangarra since 2009 and we’re proud to continue our support in 2012, further demonstrating a commitment to our Reconciliation Action Plan (PDF 1MB).

We have been proudly supporting the Australian of the Year Awards for 30 years.
