The Commonwealth Bank is committed to supporting initiatives that focus on aspects of the environment which all Australians can relate to. Through our partnerships, we encourage our people and our customers to look at simple things they can do in their everyday lives to make a difference to the environment in which we live.

Clean Up Australia Day

Our newest partnership with Clean Up Australia Day continues our support of programs that provide practical solutions to encourage individuals to make a difference to the environment. We are proud to support one of Australia’s longest running and most recognised environmental programs, which began with one man ‘cleaning up his own backyard’, but now sees almost a million people cleaning up our country.

The Great Barrier Reef Foundation

Our partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation supports research into the effects of climate change on the Great Barrier Reef. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to the environment and our desire to make a difference to the world in which we live.

Earth Hour

Earth Hour raises awareness of global warming and how we can all contribute to reducing our impact on the environment. The Commonwealth Bank has been a proud supporter of this event from its inception and will again encourage everyone to participate in Earth Hour 2009 on Saturday 28th March at 8.30pm.
