Welcome to the first issue of Sustainable Communities for 2012. In this
issue, we celebrate the Commonwealth Bank's 100 year history by investing
further in the community. We're also delighted to announce that the
Commonwealth Bank has been awarded the Catalyst Award for our culture and
gender diversity initiatives. A globally recognised accolade awarded to
selected organisations which have achieved breakthroughs in the area of
diversity, the Catalyst Award is a clear affirmation in our efforts to build a
fairer and more inclusive future.
In other news, once again, we are helping to celebrate the selfless work of
this year's Australian of the Year award-winners, including Australian of the
Year Geoffrey Rush. We are also assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
students and families through our School Based Traineeship Program and our
support for Gunawirra, a not-for-profit health and education
organisation.
Finally, we invite all cricket fans to have a go at our Plot the Shot
competition as part of the fun of the Commonwealth Bank Series in 2012.
