The Commonwealth Bank Foundation remains committed to developing financial literacy skills. Through our award winning StartSmart program, the Foundation aims to give primary and secondary school students the skills to understand and manage their financial affairs at a time when money starts to play a big part in their lives.
By making money management education interactive, engaging and fun, we give students the confidence and competence to make smart decisions about money.
Delivered by world-class professional facilitators, and created in close consultation with leading education experts, our StartSmart sessions are high-energy and designed to inspire and motivate students. We reach over 200,000 primary and secondary students across Australia through our StartSmart workshops in metropolitan cities as well as over 200 rural and regional locations each year. You can find out more here.
Another way the Foundation supports teachers is our National Financial Literacy Curriculum Resource. This free set of educational materials helps teachers to improve their students’ skills in managing their finances. It comprises 12 modules which have been mapped to the Year 7-10 curriculum in each state and territory. You can download a copy here.

We have been proudly supporting the Australian of the Year Awards for 30 years.
