Commonwealth Bank Staff Community Fund has given grants of over two million dollars to charities that help kids.
SPEAKER: KRISTINA KARASULAS, ABORIGINAL CHILDREN'S SERVICES
The Aboriginal Children's Services Centre is a centre in George St, Redfern that provides services for youth. We've been so fortunate to receive funding from the Commonwealth Bank's Community Grants Program and so we've been trialling some different courses and one of the courses is a Hip Hop Rap writing course.
The children had never actually expressed themselves in this way before and found it a really new forum, and they really liked exploring it.
We’ve seen the outcomes via the children wanting to engage further with other courses, coming up with ideas of things that they’d like to see happen here.
We’d really like to thank the staff at the Commonwealth Bank for this initiative and it really is making a difference.
