Managed Funds Re-Open for Trading

13 September 2001

As major world security markets, with the exception of the United States, have now experienced a full day of operations since events earlier in the week, Colonial First State Funds, Colonial Funds and Commonwealth Investment Management Funds have recommenced unit pricing, processing redemptions and acceptance of new applications for all Australian domestic funds.

Redemption requests and new applications for funds with international exposure will be accepted and held by the respective funds until unit pricing for these funds is available. Customers should, therefore, expect some delays in processing. Further announcements will be made as appropriate.

A spokesperson said that yesterday’s decision to suspend trading in some managed funds was taken to protect the interests of all unit holders. The decision to reopen the Australian domestic funds is a sign of the strength, depth and maturity of the Australian financial markets.
