Some of the Commonwealth Bank’s busiest branches will be opening their doors for Sunday trading from Sunday the 14th of October. It’s the first stage of a national weekend trading roll-out across four States and means that the Commonwealth Bank will have more full service branches open on a Sunday than its competitors.
The extended trading hours are part of the Bank’s commitment to providing greater convenience, accessibility and customer service … giving our customers the service they need when they need it.
According to the Group Executive Retail Banking Services Mr Ross McEwan, Sunday trading is all about offering greater convenience to customers.
“For many of our customers Sunday is one of their busiest days, whether they are merchants or just members of the general public,” Mr McEwan said.
“It’s therefore logical that we provide banking services on Sunday to support our customers as well as shoppers or people looking for financial advice or products like a housing or personal loan.
“We all have busy lives and this is one way that the Commonwealth Bank can take some of the pressure off our customers by being open when they are ready to see us. It provides couples and families with the opportunity to visit our branches together at a time that suits them.”
The Branches which will have Sunday trading are Highpoint Shopping Centre, Werribee Plaza, Fountain Gate, Southland, Knox City and Northland in Victoria, Carindale, Browns Plains and Helensvale in Queensland and Marion in South Australia. More branches will be opened in New South Wales in the near future.
Customers will be welcomed between the hours of 10.30 am and 3.30 pm.
The option for Commonwealth Bank staff to work on a Sunday is voluntary and already the Bank has received many requests from staff indicating their interest in working on a Sunday.
The Commonwealth Bank is Australia’s most accessible and convenient bank with a service network that enables customers to access their money whenever they want, wherever they are. As well as having more branches and ATM outlets than any other Bank, access to online banking via NetBank and a range of personal banking services at Australia Post agencies, customers can also access a 24 hours, seven days a week telephone banking service.
