Bank Corrects Statement Made on ABC Television Program Four Corners

26 February 2004

The Bank has forwarded the following letter to the presenter of the Four Corners program:

"I refer to your story that went to air on Monday 16 February 2004 regarding the Tasmanian Wood chipping Industry and would like to correct a statement made by you in relation to the Commonwealth Bank.

The Bank has not been the major shareholder in Gunns Limited since February 2003."
