2012 Catalyst Award for Gender Diversity Initiatives

On 25 January 2012 The Commonwealth Bank Group was announced as the winner of the 2012 Catalyst Award for its initiative on Gender Diversity.

This prestigious international award recognises organisations around the world that have created successful programs to recruit, retain and advance women in the workplace. The Group was honoured for our culture change and gender diversity initiatives. These initiatives are supporting us to increase the number of women in senior leadership positions and leverage diverse experiences and perspectives to provide excellent customer service to an equally diverse community.

As only the second Australian organisation to win this global award in its 27 year history, the Group is excited to have our culture change and diversity program recognised on an international stage.

Australian Business Awards – Best New Product 2011

The Retail Bank’s Campus Card has been awarded the Winner of the 2011 Australian Business Award for Best New Product. Campus Card was recognised as an exciting new market leading product which demonstrates the Bank’s commitment to develop innovative products that meet the needs of its customers.  The Campus Card solution allows University students to manage all their day to day university needs with one smart card.

We have been awarded CANSTAR Best Value Australia – Small Business Banking. This award recognises our service improvements such as making our Business Bankers available 24/7 and having the largest branch network, so our business is close to yours. As well as having Australia’s best online banking website.

Australian Private Banking Awards 2011

Commonwealth Private were proud to receive multiple awards at the Australian Private Banking Awards. For the third year running Commonwealth Private were named the Australian Private Banking Council’s Most Outstanding Institution (in the $1m-$10m category). This is the private banking industry’s peak award, and is the result of interviews of more than 500 clients of private banks in Australia. 

• Winner - Outstanding Private Banking Institution of the Year 2011 in the $1-$10m category, for the third year in a row.
• Winner – Outstanding New Wealth/ Investment Advisor 2011 - awarded to Luther Poier, Senior Relationship Manager Commonwealth Private Office.
