Group Executive Profiles

Grahame Petersen joined Business and Private Banking as Group Executive in October 2011. He has responsibility for business banking (Corporate Financial Services, Local Business Banking and Regional and Agribusiness), Private Banking and Equities and Margin Lending (CommSec, Colonial Geared Investments and Core Equity Services).

Grahame has more than 30 years experience in the financial services industry, having joined the Rural Bank of NSW as a graduate in 1980.

During this time, Grahame has held senior management roles in business, corporate and retail banking, business recovery, and funds management, both in Australia and overseas.

Prior to his recent appointment, Grahame was Group Executive, Wealth Management where he was responsible for Colonial First State Global Asset Management, Colonial First State and CommInsure.

From 2004 to 2006, Grahame was Group Executive, Group Strategy Development, where he had responsibility for Group strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and leadership of the ‘Which new Bank’ program team, implementing the customer service transformation.

Grahame's qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from the Securities Institute of Australia.
