Hire-a-Hubby is Australia’s largest handyman franchise, covering all areas of home maintenance, from repairs and painting to gardening and garbage removal.

Having spent many years working long hours as an egg farmer, Joel Hook was looking for a business opportunity that would offer him more flexibility and give him the chance to use his skills. He purchased a Hire-A-Hubby franchise in April 2007.

Although Joel had the skills required to run the business, he needed financial backing to get the franchise off the ground.

“We already had a home loan with the Commonwealth Bank, so when it came time to apply for a business loan we approached them first. We were offered a great rate to combine our business loan with our home loan and since then we have been really impressed with the service,” says Joel.

With Joel’s Hire-A-Hubby business up and running, he is able to service everything from factories and industrial parks through to people’s homes.

“Because we are able to service such a broad range of customers, there are so many opportunities for growth and this is something I am definitely keen to explore,” says Joel.
