• Commercial paper
  Commercial paper is available for investments of $500,000 or more for a short term (usually between 7 and 185 days) and provides access to higher rates of return than those generally available on alternative short term investments. It can provide you with the opportunity to diversify a short term money market portfolio while (in most instances) earning rates of return above bank bills.
• Farm Management Deposit Account
  The Farm Management Deposit Account is a tax-effective investment that allows primary producers to set aside pre-tax income in good years to establish cash reserves and help meet costs in other years. It provides the opportunity to shift before-tax income from years when it is least needed to years when it is most needed. It allows the deduction of the amount of deposits from assessable income, with interest paid on 100 per cent of eligible deposits. Both fixed term and at call options are available. Special legislative requirements must be adhered to with the Farm Management Deposit Account.
