Income care plus

Income Care Plus provides all the benefits of Income Care along with a wide range of extra benefits. In addition to affordable protection against loss of income, should you become sick or injured and unable to work, you'll also be covered for rehabilitation, crisis accommodation, family support, home care and more. 

The policy provides you with the flexibility to tailor a package to suit your needs. You can insure up to 75 per cent of your income and select from a wide range of waiting and benefit periods.

It is a comprehensive income protection policy that may include:

  • Total Disability Benefit
  • Partial Disability Benefit
  • Rehabilitation Benefit
  • Specific Injuries Benefit
  • Crisis Benefit
  • Accommodation Benefit
  • Family Support Benefit
  • Home Care Benefit
  • Bed Confinement Benefit
  • Transportation Benefit

Optional benefits include:

  • Increasing Claim Option
  • Accident Option
  • Super Continuance Option
  • Cash Back Option
  • Premium Saver Option

You also have the option of including Business Overheads Cover, which is specifically designed for self-employed people. This cover ensures the eligible fixed operating expenses of the business can still be paid, even if you are unable to work because of sickness or injury.

Affordable coverage
Premiums are based on considerations including your age each year, health, gender, occupation, smoking habits, waiting period, benefit period and the sum insured.

Tax deductibility
The premium for an Income Care Plus policy will generally be an allowable deduction from your assessable income under Section 8-1 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997. This deductibility applies whether you are self-employed or an employed person.
