MICROS T & E
MICROS T & E is a fully integrated payment solution aimed at the hospitality industry. The solution integrates your MICROS point-of-sale and/or property management (front-office) systems with the EFTPOS payment system to process credit and charge card payments (Visa, MasterCard, Diners, JCB and American Express). It also processes telephone and mail orders, and you can add currency conversion features so that overseas visitors can pay in their home currency.

You can also:

• Receive authorisation for a transaction prior to processing (with optional automatic top-up functionality)
• Add surcharges and tips to an invoice, as well as split bills
• Set refund limits (can be restricted to specific users)
• View online reports

Currency conversion
Currency conversion enables you to offer international customers the option of paying in Australian dollars or in their home currency. If they select the foreign currency option, they will only see the foreign currency amount on their card statement (not the Australian dollar value).

• Provide better customer service with no foreign exchange risk
• Enhance the confidence of overseas customers who pay by Visa or MasterCard and potentially increase the value of their purchases
• Provide competitive differentiation and repeat business
• Accept both Australian dollar and foreign currency payments through one terminal
• Potentially reduce transaction disputes as there is less confusion over the amounts charged from foreign cardholders

Pre-authorisation
The pre-authorisation feature enables you to check if funds are available on the customer’s credit or charge card and reserve the funds without debiting the cardholder’s account. This feature is ideal for merchants operating a hotel, car rental or mail/telephone order business, and is available for American Express, Diners and JCB cards.

Pre-authorisation provides a level of assurance that a customer’s card is valid, has sufficient funds and is not stolen. It can be used to estimate transaction amounts for room and service rates and other allowable charges. You can also use pre-authorisation in situations where you do not wish to complete the transaction instantly.

Tipping
This feature allows your customers to add a specified tip amount to their credit or debit card purchase. Ideal for restaurants or service-based industries, it enables tips to be handled with a minimum of fuss. Tips can also be attributed to individual staff members.
