Convenient access

To get the most out of your personal banking accounts, they should be easy to use, highly accessible and not cost you the earth every time you use them.

Here are some options on how to access your transaction and savings accounts so you can save time and money.

ATMs

Automatic Teller Machines allow you to make withdrawals, transfer funds between linked bank accounts, obtain account balances and more.

Combined with Bankwest ATMs, we have over 4,000 ATMs around Australia. These are free* of access fees for our customers.  Almost 90% of Australians live within 5 kilometres of a Commonwealth Bank or Bankwest ATM which is the highest coverage of any bank in Australia.

EFTPOS

EFTPOS (Electronic Funds Transfer at Point of Sale) allows you to use your card to make purchases and withdraw cash at the same time (at the retailer's discretion) from more than 103,000 merchants across Australia.

The advantages of using EFTPOS include:

  • Simple to operate - Just swipe your card, select your account and enter your PIN.
  • Access throughout Australia - EFTPOS is available at most supermarkets, petrol stations and retail outlets.
  • Choice of bank accounts - Transact from your transaction account, savings account, cheque account or credit card.
  • Security - You receive a printed receipt and the transaction appears on your statement.

Australia Post

With most Australia Post outlets acting as agencies of the Commonwealth Bank, banking has never been more convenient.

At participating Australia Post outlets you can make deposits and withdrawals on your passbook accounts, get a cash advance, make a payment on your Commonwealth Bank credit card, or transfer funds between linked bank accounts.

A quick deposit box is located in every Commonwealth Bank branch and provides a fast, safe and simple way to deposit cheques into your bank account, with same day processing.
