Drop into your closest branch to apply for the following accounts:

  • Education Savings Plan – or call 1800 888 411 (8.30am to 5.30pm Adelaide time, Monday to Friday)
  • Mortgage Interest Saver Account – or call 13 2224 (8.00am to 10.00pm, 365 days a year)
  • Superannuation Savings Account – or call 13 2015 (8:30am to 6:00pm Sydney time, Monday to Friday)
  • Streamline Basic (only available from a Commonwealth Bank branch)

What will you need?

  • Your Tax File Number (TFN) or TFN Exemption. It’s not an offence to withhold your TFN for the deposit account. However, if you don’t quote it, the Bank is required by law to deduct tax from any interest earned on the deposit account, above a certain threshold.

  • Existing Commonwealth Bank deposit account number(s)
  • Existing Commonwealth Bank debit/credit account number(s)
  • Pension type (Pensioner Security Accounts only)
  • Pension number (Pensioner Security Accounts only)

 

Within 7 business days of submitting your application you’ll be sent the forms you need to sign to open your account.

Who can apply online?

  • All accounts must maintain an Australian residential address
  • The account must be in personal names (no Company or Trading Accounts)
  • Applications for accounts where funds are held in trust cannot be accepted online. If you wish to open a trust account, please apply at any branch of the Bank
  • Joint accounts (where applicable) can include up to a maximum of two account holders
