Can the Commonwealth Bank American Express ® Card be used to make ATM
withdrawals?
Yes, the Commonwealth Bank American Express Card can be used to make a cash
advance at all Commonwealth Bank ATMs and at any ATM
which displays the American Express symbol in Australia or overseas. The usual
cash advance fees will apply. Customers will not earn Awards points on cash
advances.
Can the Commonwealth Bank American Express Card be used for BPAY
transactions?
No. Currently BPAY payments cannot be made using your Commonwealth Bank
American Express Card.
Will my replacement MasterCard® card or Visa card have the same card
number? And will that number be the same for my new Commonwealth Bank American
Express Card?
Your new MasterCard card or Visa card will have the same number as your
current card, but the expiry date will change. Your Commonwealth Bank American
Express Card will have its own number, so it’s different from your MasterCard
card or Visa card number.
When I make payments, how will this be allocated between my Commonwealth
Bank American Express Card and MasterCard card or Visa card?
Your credit card account has one credit limit, one statement and one
balance. Transactions made on either card are added together to make up the one
balance. Each month you only need to make a single payment on your
account.
What will happen to my existing direct debits?
If you have direct debits from your Commonwealth Awards MasterCard or Visa
you will need to contact your third party provider and supply the new expiry
date on your card.
What will happen to my PIN?
Your existing PIN will continue to work with your Visa or MasterCard.
You'll just need to create a separate PIN for use with your Commonwealth Bank
American Express Card. The fastest and easiest way to create the PIN of your
choice is through NetBank. Alternatively, you can visit any branch.
Will additional cardholders be sent their cards?
Yes. Any additional cardholders will be sent their cards at the same time
we send you yours.
