Who can apply for a credit card?
To apply for a credit card you
must:
- Be 18 years old or over
- Meet our credit criteria requirements
- Be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, have a current visa to
visit Australia as a student, or have a current visa to work in Australia and
be employed
What you’ll need to apply for a credit card
To complete your credit card application you’ll need to provide details
of:
- Your gross annual income
- Your employer's name and address
- Your own home if you have one (estimated value, amount owing on the
property)
- Any existing loans (investment property loans, personal loans, leasing,
credit and store cards)
- Any savings, investments and cheque account numbers and balances
- Any assets or investments (value of property, shares, car, furniture and
other assets).
- If you’re a new Commonwealth Bank customer you may need to supply Proof of
Identification documentation, such as a drivers licence. This can be done at
any Commonwealth Bank branch.
