
When you use your credit card to make purchases online, there are a few things to look out for to ensure your transaction is safe and your details protected.
When you shop on the internet using your Commonwealth Bank credit card, the Commonwealth Bank provides a guarantee that you will not be liable for unauthorised transactions provided you comply with the Credit Cards Conditions of Use.
Only deal with merchants you trust, such as those with a reputable trading name or brand, or merchants you've previously purchased from either by phone or in store.
Look for a padlock icon at the bottom of your web browser. This indicates that the merchant's site offers an encrypted line of communication to protect your details during the transaction. And when you're completing your online transaction, be sure to see if the merchant is displaying one of the following logos:

If these logos don’t appear and you don’t know the merchant, you can call the merchant to verify their authenticity and to check their delivery and return policies.
Secure Internet Shopping provides a more secure way to shop online by offering added protection against fraudulent use of your card. All you need to do is be registered for Netcode via Netbank and enter your Netcode one time password when buying online at participating sites. To confirm that you are registered for Netcode log on to Netbank and under the Security tab select “Netcode Security” to confirm your details.
Shop with confidence when you use your MasterCard online at participating merchants. Just look for the MasterCard® SecureCode™ logo.





You can now transfer your balance from another financial institution or store-issued credit card in NetBank.
