What is a comparison rate?

A comparison rate helps you identify the true cost of a loan. It takes into account the interest rate, loan set-up costs, the term of the loan, and any other up front or ongoing fees associated with a loan.

When deciding on the loan that suits your particular needs, it's important to consider all features of the loan, not just the comparison rate. For example, features such as fee-free Internet banking or flexible repayment arrangements are not included in the comparison rate.

It's also important to know that the comparison rate does not include:

• Government charges, such as stamp duty or mortgage registration fees
• Fees and charges associated with certain loan options that may or may not be used by the lender, such as early repayment or redraw fees
• Fees and charges which may not be available at the time the comparison rate is provided

• All comparison rates are calculated on the basis of secured credit of $150,000 over a 25 year term. Comparison rate schedules are available by calling 13 2224 or by visiting any branch. • 1. 3 Year Special Economiser is a discounted Base Variable Rate for 3 years for new borrowings only, which converts to the Economiser Base Variable Rate current at the time after the 3 year period. Not available for Low Documentation Loans.
• 2. A deferred establishment fee of $700 may be charged if the loan is repaid within 4 years.
• 3. No Loan Service Fee offer is only available if there is one security and 'off the plan' loans are excluded.
