Secure Internet Shopping is provided through the MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa programs. By registering for it you can enjoy increased security when using your existing MasterCard or Visa at participating merchant websites.

When you purchase online with your credit card, a Commonwealth Bank dialogue box will request you to enter your Secure Internet Shopping password - just like entering your PIN at the ATM. Within seconds the Bank confirms your identity. Your password is completely private and will never be shared with the merchant.

Register for Secure Internet Shopping

On the ‘Secure Internet Shopping' page just type your details in the supplied fields.

For this demo select the ‘credit card’ from the dropdown list.  Type ‘123ABC’ for the password, with Secure Internet Shopping as your Personal Assurance Message. Then click the ‘Next' button.

	Secure Internet Shopping (SIS) - enter details   Secure Internet Shopping gives you an opportunity to have an extra layer of security when shopping online with MasterCard or Visa. Once you have registered simply look for websites that use the 'MasterCard SecureCode' or 'Verified by Visa' logos. To access Secure Internet Shopping you will need a Credit Card linked to either MasterCard or Visa. These are security initiatives established between financial institutions and MasterCard and Visa. Your Personal Assurance Message (PAM) will appear whenever you are asked for your password whilst shopping online. This confirms that you are only providing your password to the Bank and you should check to make sure this message is correct. (Your PAM must be between 1 and 100 characters long. It may contain spaces but must not contain any special characters.) Example Personal Assurance Message My first cat was called Mitzy on a farm called Sunrise. Please fill out all fields.
