100% Security Guarantee
With NetBank the safety of your money is 100% guaranteed.
This means we’ll cover any loss should someone make an unauthorised
transaction on your account using NetBank – provided you protect your Client
number and Password, and immediately notify us of the loss, theft or misuse of
your password and of any suspicious activity on your account.
Report suspicious activity on your account by calling 13 2221 option
4 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
24/7 transaction monitoring
A dedicated security team monitor NetBank for suspicious activity around the
clock to ensure your online banking remains secure.
Commonwealth Bank security staff also work closely with the Australian High
Tech Crime Centre (AHTCC) and Australian Federal Police to protect our
customers.
NetCode
NetCode is a free security upgrade that not only protects your money but
your identity as well. It is no secret that online banking is a common target
for fraud and identity theft. With this in mind, we introduced NetCode SMS
protection to help ensure both your financial and personal safety when using
NetBank.
When you perform actions within NetBank that are considered ‘high risk’ we
will request that you enter a six digit NetCode that we send to you via SMS. An
average NetBank user will receive this request once a month.
Much like strapping on a seatbelt adds an extra couple of seconds to your
journey, yet significantly increases your safety levels when driving, NetCode
SMS is a minor extra step to help ensure your online banking experience is a
safe one.
Free McAfee antivirus
With McAfee® Internet Security, you’ll enjoy award-winning software
that will protect you online, all the time. And it’s free for six months
for NetBank customers.
McAfee software is easy to install and use. And its continuous automatic
updates ensure you’ll be running the most current protection to allow you to
stay safe online.
Automatic timeout
After a period of inactivity we'll automatically log you out of NetBank to
reduce the risk of anyone else accessing your banking details on your computer
if you leave it unattended.
