Repayments & redraw

  • Making repayments using direct debit

Direct debit saves you time as you don’t have to think about your loan repayments. Once it’s set up, your repayments will automatically be transferred from  your selected account by the due date so you’re not charged late fees.

    • You can change the amount*, frequency or date of your repayments, as well as the account your direct debit repayments are taken from, in NetBank.
    • Set up or cancel direct debits, or make any other requests, by calling us on 13 1431, or by visiting your nearest CommBank branch.
    • If you’d like to set up a direct debit from another financial institution, just visit your nearest branch.
  • Flexible repayment options

You can choose to make your personal loan repayments monthly, fortnightly or weekly. Increasing the frequency of your repayments* can help you pay less interest over the life of the loan.

You can increase your repayments to pay off your loan faster and reduce the interest you’ll pay over time. Early repayment fees may apply on fixed rate personal loan accounts.

Alternatively, you can reduce your repayments to free up some cash, provided you’ve gotten ahead on your loan by making additional repayments (on eligible products).

When you change your repayments online, we’ll do all the checks to make sure your new repayment amount is enough to repay the loan in remaining contracted loan term.

  • Redraw

If you’ve made additional repayments on your variable rate loan, you may have funds available to redraw. You can check your available redraw balance in CommBank app, NetBank or at any branch. Your available redraw balance may not include any repayments made towards your next monthly minimum repayment amount or uncleared funds, and may reduce so that, by the end of your agreed loan term, both your loan balance and the available redraw will be zero.

To redraw, simply log on to NetBank or the CommBank app and transfer money from your available personal loan funds to your preferred transaction account. Alternatively, you can call us on 13 1431 or visit your nearest branch.
