School Banking

Our commitment to financial literacy

We have a proud tradition of helping generations of young Australians learn about the importance of saving and smart money management. A cornerstone of this investment is our new educational initiative, One Million Kids, which aims to improve the financial literacy skills of one million Australian school kids by 2015.

When it comes to a child’s education, knowing how to manage money is as essential as Maths, English or Science.

Our School Banking program gives schools an easy, fun and interactive way to teach kids money management skills they’ll use for the rest of their lives.

We have a great Rewards Program that promotes good savings behaviour. Every time a deposit is made to a child’s savings account, regardless of how much, students receive a Dollarmites token. These tokens can then be exchanged for gifts of varying value. The more tokens children save, the more rewards items they can choose from.

The Commonwealth Bank Foundation’s StartSmart program runs workshops for primary and secondary Australian school kids to help improve their financial literacy skills.

School Principals

Besides teaching your students better financial management, your school will also benefit through joining our School Banking program. School Banking helps raise funds for schools and also engages parents in the school community.
