School Principals

More schools and more kids equals a more financially literate generation

The benefits School Banking will bring to your school

  • The program is a great fundraising activity because participating schools receive commission for every account activated via the School Banking Program, i.e. for each student who banks through the school’s program for the very first time; and for each subsequent individual deposit made at school. For more details on commission, see our program information page. Last year alone, participating schools collectively received close to $1 million in commission.
  • School Banking actively engages parents with the school community, as they help their children grow their savings and raise funds for the school at the same time.
  • It helps develop stronger money skills, giving students more knowledge, independence and confidence when it comes to decisions about money.

Introducing School Banking at your school

We support your school to ensure rolling out the program is as easy and streamlined as possible. The first step is to engage volunteers who may be parents, carers, grandparents or school employees to be involved in running the program. Known as School Banking Co-ordinators, they are responsible for collecting, processing, and depositing the money at the nearest Commonwealth Bank branch or Australia Post outlet. They also facilitate the Rewards Program for the students.

Your school will be assigned a dedicated School Banking Specialist to support the running of the program. This support will either be face-to-face or by telephone.
