XPOS functions are as simple to operate as other EFTPOS features. More detail can be found in our XPOS Operator Guide. - Customer requests a product.
- Merchant selects the product from the menu on the EFTPOS terminal or the Point of Sale.
- Merchant accepts payment in the form of a credit, debit, charge card or cash.
- When the payment is confirmed, the EFTPOS terminal or the Point of Sale simply prints the voucher.
- Vouchers are redeemed by visit, e.g. attraction tickets, or upon activation by the customer, e.g. they ring a number on the voucher and enter the PIN on the voucher to obtain a mobile recharge.
- Customer requests a gift card for a particular amount.
- Merchant selects the gift card function from the menu on the EFTPOS terminal, or the Point of Sale.
- Merchant accepts payment in the form of a credit, debit, charge card or cash.
- Merchant inserts a new gift card into the EFTPOS terminal and the requested amount is added to the card.
- The recipient of the gift card can then use it to pay for goods and services at participating stores, like a normal debit card, through the store's EFTPOS terminal.
All payments are processed via BPOINT, the Commonwealth Bank's over-the-counter bill payment service. - Customer receives a bill from their biller.
- Customer decides to pay the bill at a BPOINT merchant outlet, and presents it while doing their normal shopping.
- Merchant captures the biller code and customer reference number via the barcode scanner provided.
- Customer selects their payment method (debit, credit or cash) and confirms the amount being paid.
- The bill payment transaction is then processed by the Bank.
- A receipt is printed for each bill payment transaction. The receipt lists the bill details, transaction trace number, receipt number and the amount paid.
Bartercard members can now process their transactions electronically through XPOS. - Bartercard member purchases a product or service from a Bartercard merchant.
- Merchant selects the product or service from the menu on the XPOS terminal or from the Point of Sale.
- Merchant accepts payment in the form of a Bartercard.
- Merchant receives confirmation immediately through their terminal.
- Merchant has the benefit of cleared funds in their account almost immediately - no need to spend time completing paper vouchers.
