I don’t meet all of the eligibility requirements, can I still apply?

To be considered for the Career Comeback Program, candidates must meet the below criteria:

  • Are currently on a career break for 2+ years
  • Possess at least 5+ years of relevant professional work experience*
  • Have full-time working rights in Australia
  • Are Sydney based

Taking part in consulting/freelance work or having generated some income from non-professional activities does not disqualify applicants. 

*Please note the opportunity available in our Global Capital Markets business mandates a minimum requirement of 3+ years

I’ve never worked in Banking before. Does that matter?

No. We have a wide range of opportunities available that welcome a variety of backgrounds. For example, in our Client Solutions or Non-Financial Risk functions, candidates with backgrounds in operations, risk, consulting, project management or business law are encouraged to apply. 

Once I submit my application, what are the next steps?

You will receive an update on your application by the end of November. If we think you may have the experience and passion we’re looking for, we’ll be in touch to invite you in for an interview.

What level of positions and salaries are offered through the Career Comeback program?

The position levels offered are across the Senior Associate, Associate Director and Director level. These positions would typically mandate 5 – 20 years’ experience. The salaries on offer are dependent on the specific role and your level of experience. 

What is the start date?

The program will commence on 8 February 2021. We will facilitate several induction workshops to help you settle into your role and into the organisation.

What are the hours?

At CommBank, we work flexibly. For some, this may mean 4-days per week, or finishing at 4pm each day to pick up your kids. Talk to us and let us know how this opportunity can flex to suit your lifestyle.

Will I receive a permanent job offer after I complete the program?

You will be eligible for a permanent position post the 10-week Career Comeback program. This offer is not guaranteed, and will be based on performance. 

What locations is the program eligible for?

Sydney only.
