Commonwealth Bank is running late for Christmas

12 December 2006

Some of the Commonwealth Bank’s busiest branches in major shopping precincts across Australia will extend trading hours in the lead up to Christmas.

More than sixty-five branches nationally will operate later on Thursday 14th and 21st, and Friday 15th and 22nd of December.

The extended trading hours are part of the Bank’s commitment to providing greater convenience, accessibility and customer service, which has also seen many of its busiest branches open their doors for Saturday trading since July.

According to the Group Executive for Retail Banking Services, Mr Michael Cameron, extended trading in December is all about offering greater convenience to our customers.

"Christmas goes hand in hand with late night shopping. We want to ensure that when busy shopping centre locations are open late for the convenience of customers, then so are we."

"Extending our trading hours in December is part of responding to our customers and taking tangible steps to improve our service, by letting our customers do business with us how they want, when they want," Mr Cameron said.

The majority of participating branches will open until 7.00pm (local time) across the period however others may only open until 5.30pm or 6.00pm on select evenings depending on shopping centre trading hours.
