Commbank donates $100,000 to Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal
20 November 2008
The Commonwealth Bank today announced it has donated $100,000 to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal, to assist those affected by the Brisbane storms.
John Hoey, Regional General Manager Service and Sales QLD and NT region, at the Commonwealth Bank said: “After speaking to our people on the ground, to the Queensland Premier’s Department and after seeing the devastation, we now have a better idea of the total disaster.
“As time passes it becomes more evident than an enormous amount of assistance is required. In recognition of this, I am pleased to announce the Bank’s additional support for the people of Queensland,” Mr Hoey said.
The Bank earlier this week activated its emergency assistance package for customers affected by the disaster and also opened its branch network to collect donations for the Premier’s appeal.
Mr Hoey on behalf of all in the Commonwealth Bank, once again, expressed sympathy to the families and communities affected by this disaster.
