Celebrating Australian culture

Arts

The Commonwealth Bank Group is a long-standing and passionate supporter and corporate sponsor of some of Australia’s leading arts organisations. Our partnerships with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Bangarra Dance Theatre and Opera Australia, aim to make the arts more accessible to all Australians.

Australian Chamber Orchestra

Described as “high-spirited”, “explosive”, “a firecracker ensemble”, “a breath of fresh air”, the Australian Chamber Orchestra has been enchanting critics and audiences from Paris to Pasadena since 1975. Today, they’re conducted by the visionary musician and lead violinist Richard Tognetti, one of Australia’s most celebrated soloists.

The Commonwealth Bank Group is proud to be celebrating 25 years with the ACO in 2013.

Bangarra Dance Theatre

In Wiradjuri, “Bangarra” means “to make fire”. As its name suggests, the Bangarra Dance Theatre has been setting the dance world alight for 23 years. With every performance Bangarra celebrates the beauty, richness and resilience of Australia’s Indigenous culture.

We’ve sponsored Bangarra since 2009 and we’re proud to continue our support in 2013.

Opera Australia

A feast for eyes, ears and mind — every performance by Opera Australia is a night to remember.

The home of exceptional performers from Joan Sutherland to Yvonne Kenny, Opera Australia has been enriching Australia’s cultural life since 1956. As an Opera Australia supporter for more than 30 years, the Commonwealth Bank Group has helped Australia’s national opera company bring this unique art form to thousands of people across the country and the globe.
