Get started

Open a bank account for your child

To use the CommBank Youth app, your child will need one (or both) of the following accounts:

The CommBank Youth app works best with both accounts, so your child can manage their day-to-day pocket money while working towards their savings goals.

Download and log on

Download the CommBank Youth app on any iOS 9+ device.

Your child can log on securely using their NetBank client number (which you'll recieve when you open one of the above accounts).

You're now ready to start helping your child make earning, saving and responsible spending decisions.

Got a Youthsaver but no NetBank client number? If you can see your child’s account in your NetBank or CommBank app, you can set this up online.  Otherwise, we can set this up in branch. You’ll just need to bring along personal ID, like your driver's licence and child’s birth certificate.

Manage real money, digitally

  • Check account balance and transactions at a glance
  • Set a savings goal, track progress and celebrate with a virtual high five when the goal’s been reached
  • Prompts to get your child thinking before they transfer or spend their money
  • Create a list of chores/jobs together. Tick them off and pay pocket money as you go
  • Transfer money between Youthsaver account and Smart Access Account for Youth
  • See Dollarmites tokens balance (for School Banking participants)

100% security guarantee

We’ll cover any loss due to unauthorised transactions on your child’s account, as long as you and your child protect cards, devices, client numbers, PINs, passwords and any other access methods, and immediately notify us of their loss, theft or misuse or any suspicious activity on your child’s account.
