How up-to-date are the account balances?

Transfers From (Withdrawals):

  • Statement accounts: Both account balance and available funds update immediately for NetBank initiated transactions.
  • Passbook accounts: Both account balance and available funds update immediately. You will need to take your passbook into a branch for this information to be updated in it.
  • Credit cards: Account balance updates the following day. Available funds updates immediately.
  • Home loans/Mortgage Interest Saver Accounts: Both account balance and available funds update immediately.
  • Personal loans: Personal loan balance updates immediately. No withdrawals are permitted.

Transfers To (Deposits):

The table below indicates when your account balance will update based on the time and date funds were transferred to the account. You can refer to your 'transaction history' page to see details of the transaction.  

  • Term deposits: Term deposit balances are reflected as at the previous Bank business day. No withdrawals are permitted

How do I view my Commonwealth Awards points balance or redeem awards?

You can view your current Commonwealth Awards points balance or redeem points for awards, by accessing our secure awards site. Access to this site is only available via NetBank.  

If you experience difficulties accessing Commonwealth Awards information, please contact Commonwealth Awards on 13 1661, 8am to 8pm EST time, Monday to Friday.

Why do I sometimes see the future transactions panel on the 'My home' page?

The NetBank 'My home' page provides a quick summary of your top 5 upcoming scheduled transfers and bill payments.  In addition, it will show any new bills to view (if you have registered with BPAY View in NetBank).

If you have not set-up any scheduled transfer or bill payment activities, then this panel will not appear.

Transaction sorting and searching How can I sort the transactions in order of the description?

You can sort in order of description by clicking on the description heading. The arrow pointing up indicates that the sort is in ascending (A-Z) order. The arrow pointing down indicates the sort is in descending (Z-A) order.

If I sort my transactions within NetBank will they be sorted when I export them?

No, export transactions are always sorted in date order.

If I sort transactions and then log off, will the transactions be sorted in the same way when I next log in?

Yes, transactions remain sorted for the duration of your current NetBank session and when you next login.

What are the oldest transactions that I can view using NetBank's statement account transaction search function?

NetBank stores up to the last 2 years of stored transactions for open statement accounts, Credit Cards, Home Loans and Personal Loans.

View future transactions
What are future transactions and how do I view them?

Future transactions are any transactions that you have scheduled to take place on a future date. These are also referred to as scheduled transfers.

To view future transactions:

On the 'Future transactions' page under the ‘View accounts’ tab, select the account you wish to view using the 'account from' drop down list. Then click the 'Show' button. The scheduled transfers due in the next 6 months will be shown for the selected account chosen.

How do I modify or cancel future transactions/scheduled transfers?

Any modification or change to your future transactions needs to be performed before 5 am (EST time) on the day it is due.

To modify or delete a future transfer go to the 'Scheduled transfers' page under the 'Transfers' tab or 'Scheduled bill payments' page under the 'Bills' tab, depending on the type of transaction you wish to modify/ delete.

View account information
What information does this function offer?

It enables you to view your account interest rate, credit limit, loan interest, and deposit interest information relating to your linked Statement accounts, Credit Cards, Home Loans, Personal Loans and Term deposits.

To view account information:

On the 'Account information' page under the ‘View accounts’ tab, select the account you wish to view using the 'Account information' drop down list. Then click the 'View information' button.

Export transactions
How can I transfer NetBank information, such as transaction details, to another software application?

NetBank gives you the option to copy transaction details to another software application using the export function.

Export formats supported are:

  • Microsoft Money
  • Quicken (US versions)
  • Quicken (Australian versions)
  • Comma Separated Values (CSV) (e.g. Microsoft Excel) and plain text
  • Mind Your Own Business (MYOB)

The data exported from NetBank will consist of all transactions requested on the ‘export transactions search’ page. The search results will be displayed on the ‘export transactions’ page, although only 40 records will be displayed on each screen. The exported file will contain all transactions matching the query data.

Can I download or export transaction receipts from Bank messages?

NetBank does not have the facility to download receipts from 'Bank messages’; however the receipts can be pasted into other applications such as Microsoft Word or Excel. To do this:

a. Select the data you wish to copy by dragging the mouse over the data you wish to copy while the left mouse button is depressed.

b. Copy the data to your clipboard by pressing 'CONTROL-C' or 'APPLE-C' (for Macintosh Computers).

c. Open another application such as Microsoft Word, WordPad or Microsoft Excel.

d. Paste the data into the other application by pressing 'CONTROL-V' or 'APPLE-V' (for Macintosh Computers) or selecting 'Edit-Paste' or 'Edit-Paste-Special' from the menu bar.

For best results in Microsoft Word we suggest you select 'Edit-Paste-Special-Unformatted Text'.

If I sort transactions, will they be sorted in the same way when I export them?

No. The sort functionality only affects how transactions are displayed on screen.

Why aren't the running balance figures exported to some accounting/personal finance packages?

Running balance figures are exported in Comma Separated Values (CSV) (e.g. Microsoft Excel) format only, as other software packages calculate the running balance for you.

I have exported transactions, but not all the transactions have appeared?

Please ensure that your search 'from' and 'to' dates are business days (working day) and that the maximum number of transactions exported is 180.
