Enhancements to BPAY
We’re making improvements to BPAY® on NetBank. We’ve taken on board your feedback to make paying bills with BPAY more streamlined and easier to do.
Some of the improvements we’ll be introducing soon are:
- A new predictive ‘search’ functionality that makes it quicker and easier to find what you’re looking for. Simply type in the first few letters of your query to search Biller Lists, Scheduled Bill Payments, BPAY View and Past Bill Payments.
- Improved navigation using ‘I want to …’ links, to make it even simpler to find what you are looking for and manage your BPAY payments.
- Help information and tips right where you need it. Just hover your mouse over the question mark symbol and the relevant information will pop-up on your screen.
Important information about recurring payments
As part of the BPAY changes, you will no longer be able to set up recurring scheduled payments for a small number of billers.
Which payment schedules will be affected?
Only billers who issue a variable Customer Reference Number (vCRN), where the Customer Reference Number (CRN) changes with each bill you receive. When you make a payment using BPAY, you as the payer are identified by a CRN, which appears on your bill. This is the number that you enter into BPAY for your payment to be identified and reconciled by the biller.
Once the upcoming BPAY changes have been implemented, you will no longer be able to set up recurring scheduled payments to billers who issue a vCRN. This is to ensure that all BPAY payments can be reconciled quickly and accurately. You will still be able to use your saved biller details, all you’ll need to do is enter the vCRN into the Customer Reference Number field manually.
