How to buy foreign cash

  • Buy foreign cash at any CommBank branch1
  • An extensive range of foreign currencies in various denominations
  • Other currencies can be ordered if required

  • Available at selected CommBank branches
  • Withdraw up to AUD1,000 worth of US Dollars, Euros, Great British Pounds or New Zealand Dollars

  • Order cash or travellers cheques. They will be delivered to your nominated CommBank branch within three to four business days of payment
  • Order between AUD500 and AUD10,000 worth of currency
  • Available to non CommBank customers
  • Pay using BPAY® via NetBank, telephone banking or through your own financial institution1

Foreign Exchange ATMs

Visit selected CommBank branches and withdraw US Dollars, Euros, Great British Pounds or New Zealand Dollars from one of our Foreign Exchange ATMs. You can withdraw up to AUD1,000 worth of foreign cash using your Australian-issued debit or credit card*.

Fees and charges

To buy foreign cash from the Commonwealth Bank:

  • There will be a fee of 1% of AUD equivalent for each currency (minimum AUD8 per currency).

To sell foreign cash to the Commonwealth Bank:

  • There will be a fee of AUD8 per transaction.
