What’s a Tax File Number (TFN)?
Last updated 31 May 2017
A TFN is an eight or nine-digit number that’s unique to you. You can apply for a TFN through the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
Without one, you may have to pay more tax and miss out on government benefits.
Go to Update my Tax File Number in NetBank to link your TFN or TFN exemption to all your accounts. Not providing your TFN or TFN exemption isn’t an offence.
