Does my home insurance policy include cover for bushfire?

Yes. Fire (including bushfire) damage is covered by our Home Insurance as a standard Insured Event.

It’s important to understand though that you won’t be covered for loss or damage caused by fire within the first 48 hours of your policy commencing, unless:

  • You’re renewing or replacing an existing policy and there’s no break in cover
  • On the same day the policy commences you enter into a contract to buy the insured address or you move into it as a tenant
