Commonwealth Bank today announced the expansion of CommBank Yello – the CBA’s new customer recognition program – to more than 8 million of its customers, making it one of Australia’s largest customer recognition programs.1

CBA’s Executive General Manager Customer Engagement and Digital, Meg Bonighton, said: “We realised we could do more to recognise our customers and spent a lot of time listening to what people value. This led to us creating CommBank Yello – an exclusive customer recognition program that helps us to provide around $400m of value to CommBank customers each year.2

“We know customers want to be recognised, whether they’ve banked with us for years or are new to CommBank. They also want benefits that are easy to qualify for, as well as easy to redeem. CommBank Yello has been designed to answer and deliver on those expectations.

“Customers who meet our eligibility requirements are recognised for what they do today and rewarded for doing more banking with us.”

The CommBank Yello program provides eligible customers a range of cashbacks, discounts and prize draws, as well as unique experiences via a new CommBank Yello hub available in the latest version of the CommBank app.

“CommBank Yello is about helping customers with some of their everyday needs by connecting them to up to 175 different offers from over 75 brands that the bank is currently partnering with. It’s a ‘thank you for banking with CommBank’ and something we will continue investing in and expanding over time.

“What sets this customer recognition program apart is how we’re combining customer insights with leading AI capabilities to share personalised offers with customers, based on what they are likely to value the most,” Ms Bonighton said.

The expansion of the customer recognition program means it is now available to around 8 million eligible customers.

“CommBank Yello offers a range of banking benefits and connects customers with offers from other brands that we believe are best-in-market, as well as unique experiences that you won’t be able to get anywhere else.

“For example, there are offers on streaming services, as well as extra special discounts from THE ICONIC and a chance to watch the Boxing Day Test in style with Cricket Australia,” Ms Bonighton said.

“In the first week of recently launching the program to those customers with a transaction account, we shared more than 55 million offers and we’ve had more than 1.5m visits to the CommBank Yello hub via the app,” Ms Bonighton added.
