Larger than Italy and home to 10% of the world's fish species, the Great Barrier Reef is a true treasure of the natural world. So it's up to all of us to protect it.
Sadly, the reef is already being damaged by pollution, overfishing and the effects of climate change. Of these threats, climate change looms as the most dangerous.
Support the Great Barrier Reef Foundation’s ZooX Fund. The fund finances vital research into understanding how the reef will respond to the effects of climate change and how we can work to protect it.
Through the ZooX Ambassadors program, our people can learn more about climate change and its impact on the reef. Then they can apply to become one of our ZooX Ambassadors, joining a three-day research field trip to the University of Queensland's Heron Island Research Station.
Through their work on Heron Island, our ZooX Ambassadors make a positive contribution to the wellbeing of the reef. Just as importantly, they become advocates for their environment, helping to spread the word and educate others about the differences we can all make.

We have been proudly supporting the Australian of the Year Awards for 30 years.
