China

The establishment of the Beijing Representative Office in 1994 provided a liaison point for the Commonwealth Bank to build valuable relationships with government bodies, financial institutions and corporations in China. Since then, the branch has also opened its first corporate and institutional branch in Shanghai’s Pudong District.

The Hong Kong branch, established in 1986, offers a comprehensive range of financial services to multinationals from Australia and New Zealand with a presence in Asia. India

The Mumbai branch of the Commonwealth Bank was established in 2010 and provides a range of savings accounts, loans, money transfers and international trade finance services for customers in India. The branch also offers a range of NRI products for Indians living in Australia. At this branch, our Australian customers can also access a free online connection to NetBank and a free phone line to 13 2221 in Australia.

Indonesia

Commonwealth Bank Indonesia is a subsidiary of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and has been operating for almost 15 years. It operates under an Indonesian banking licence and offers its local customers savings, term deposits, current accounts, mutual funds, loans, bank guarantees and foreign exchange. It has more than 80 branches and 100 ATMs across Indonesia. It employs more than 1500 people and services the financial needs of more than 84,000 customers.

Commonwealth Bank Indonesia is well represented in the popular tourist destination of Bali. The Bank’s Australian customers benefit from lower ATM fees (refer to ‘non Commonwealth Bank’ ATM fees) for Debit Card withdrawals from local Commonwealth Bank ATMs, and can access competitive foreign exchange and free online and telephone banking and at its four Bali branches at Denpasar, Legian, Ubud and Kuta.
