Commonwealth Bank Board Renewal

Chair of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), Paul O’Malley, today announced the appointment of Julie Coates to CBA’s Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect on or around 1 September 2026, subject to regulatory requirements.

Julie is a Non-Executive Director of Wesfarmers Limited and Scentre Group Limited. She has also previously served as a Non-Executive Director of Coca Cola Amatil Limited, Spotless Group Holdings Limited, Australian Food and Grocery Council Limited and Green Building Council of Australia.

Julie brings to the Board over 30 years of experience in the retail, consumer goods, construction, manufacturing and building products sectors. Julie was Managing Director and CEO of CSR Limited between 2019-2024. Prior to that, Julie held various other senior executive roles with Goodman Fielder Pty Limited and Woolworths Limited.

Paul O’Malley said: “On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to announce Julie Coates’ appointment and to welcome her breadth of experience in her role as a Non-Executive Director of CBA.”
