  • There is a quick application in NetBank for Streamline, NetBank Saver and Cash Investment Account. As your profile is already stored within NetBank, all you need to do is select your account options.
  • If you would like to apply for an AwardSaver, Youthsaver or Pensioner Security Account please follow the process below.
  • It can take less than 5 minutes to apply and have your account approved and opened.
  • Simply log on to NetBank, go to the ‘Apply’ tab and select ‘Bank accounts’…it’s that easy.

Choose between completing an account application online or fill out a short form to get one of our specialists to call you and discuss your needs. Our specialist can help choose and open the right account for you. Before starting your online application, take a look at the requirements below.

Call or drop into your closest branch to apply for the following accounts:

  • Education Savings Plan – 1800 888 411 (8.30am to 5.30pm Adelaide time, Monday to Friday)
  • Mortgage Interest Saver Account – 13 2224 (8.00am to 10.00pm, 365 days a year)
  • Superannuation Savings Account – 13 2015 (8:30am to 6:00pm Sydney time, Monday to Friday)

 

What will you need?

  • Your Tax File Number (TFN) or TFN Exemption. It’s not an offence to withhold your TFN for the deposit account. However, if you don’t quote it, the Bank is required by law to deduct tax from any interest earned on the deposit account, above a certain threshold.

  • Existing Commonwealth Bank debit/credit account number(s)
  • Pension type (Pensioner Security Accounts only)
  • Pension number (Pensioner Security Accounts only)

 

Within 7 business days of submitting your application you’ll be sent the forms you need to sign to open your account.

Who can apply online?

  • All applicants must be Australian residents with an Australian address
  • The account must be in personal names (no Company or Trading Accounts)
  • Applications for accounts where funds are held in trust cannot be accepted online. If you wish to open a trust account, please apply at any branch of the Bank
  • Joint accounts (where applicable) can include up to a maximum of two account holders
