Over the past decade, CommBank employees have collectively walked, cycled, run and swum thousands of kilometres to raise funds for cancer research. Now in its 11th year, Can4Cancer has ticked over $20 million raised for Tour de Cure, supporting 189 cancer projects which have delivered 47 worldclass cancer research breakthroughs, across a range of cancer types.

What is Can4Cancer?
Can4Cancer is an employee-driven initiative that started as a single bike ride in 2014 with 140 participants, and has now grown to more than 16 events across the country each year. In 2025, more than 7,000 CommBank employees will cometogether for Can4Cancer with the common goal of finding a cure.
Bruno Maurel, Chairman, Tour de Cure said: “We are beyond proud of our partnership with CommBank through Can4Cancer. Reaching the $20 million milestone is a testament to the power of CommBank’s community, purpose, and perseverance. We at Tour de Cure are deeply grateful to every rider, walker, runner, swimmer, donor, and supporter who made this possible. This is more than a number— it’s lives changed, futures protected, and a legacy of impact we’ll continue to build on.”
The Can4Cancer program continues to evolve, offering more opportunities for employees to get involved and contribute to a cause which impacts many. With strong support from staff and partners, Can4Cancer remains a key part of CommBank’s commitment to building a brighter future for all Australians.
Nathan Barker, Head of Community Investment for CommBank, said: “Raising $20 million for cancer research and support programs is a proud moment for everyone involved in Can4Cancer. It reflects the incredible generosity and commitment of our people, who continue to show up year after year to support this important initiative. We’re honoured to stand alongside Tour de Cure and our employees in this shared mission to create a brighter future for the many Australians who are sadly impacted by cancer.”

The funds raised are provided as grants to Australian-based cancer researchers who, like Tour de Cure, are driven by the belief that a cure for cancer is possible, and that funding research is how we’ll get there. To date, Tour de Cure has funded 1,200 cancer projects and contributed to 200 scientific cancer breakthroughs in cancer research.
