Forbes, the business magazine that tracks individuals who cross the billion-dollar threshold, reported the US singer had cracked the list in a new report.

A bold pivot to country music helped deliver the most successful concert tour in the genre’s history and pushed Beyoncé’s personal fortune into 10-figure territory, making her just the fifth musician to reach billionaire status.

Music drives most of the wealth

In reaching billionaire status, Beyoncé joins a small group of musicians that includes her husband Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Rihanna.

“While Queen Bey has expanded her business empire into a handful of celebrity-friendly industries — including a hair care brand (Cécred), a whiskey label (SirDavis), and a clothing line (Ivy Park, discontinued in 2024) — most of her personal wealth comes from her music,” Forbes said.

The magazine noted that Beyoncé has retained control of the rights to her catalogue and continues to earn heavily from global touring.

Cowboy Carter tour delivers huge earnings

The elevation follows the end of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour, which ran from the northern spring through to the summer of 2025.

The tour grossed more than US$400 million ($A598 million) in ticket sales, with an estimated additional US$50 million generated from merchandise sold at shows, according to Forbes.

Beyoncé also performed a special Cowboy Carter half-time show during Netflix’s first Christmas Day NFL game in 2024, earning an estimated US$50 million.

Her previous 2023 Renaissance World Tour took in nearly US$600 million, while Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé grossed about US$44 million globally, according to Box Office Mojo.
