Commonwealth Bank people leader Jane Adams has been named the People and Culture category winner at the Women Leading Tech Awards.

As Domain Lead for HR Business Partnering Learning and Skilling, Adams “sits at the centre of the bank’s push to reshape the talent pipeline for one of Australia’s largest tech workforce”, the awards’ organisers said.

The annuals awards are designed to promote and support gender parity and representation across the tech industry and the People and Culture award is open to women working in the HR, people management or talent development departments of tech businesses. It covers roles including chief people officer, head of people and culture, director of employee experience, and HR director.

Commonwealth Bank’s EmpowerHer executive sponsorship program, Women In Technology Network and Career Comeback initiative were called out as examples of the positive steps the banks has taken to make its large-scale technology operations more inclusive.

“At a time when the industry is still grappling with gender imbalance, Adams is helping prove that real change happens when inclusion is engineered into the system itself,” Women Leading Tech’s organisers said.
