In March, CommBank established a Seattle Tech Hub, designed to give CommBank technologists the chance to learn in the heart of a world-leading tech ecosystem, working directly with some global tech leaders to foster AI-enhanced innovation and bring cutting edge skills back to Australia.
Accelerating learning for our people
The Seattle Tech Hub is a launchpad for capability development. A three-week Seattle rotation equips data scientists and engineers with immersive, hands-on experiences to help our people develop cutting-edge AI capabilities.
"I think Seattle has broadened my perspective. I'm a data scientist by trade, but by coming here I'm now thinking about the whole AI product life cycle." – Bronte Pendergast, Data Scientist
"My experience in Seattle has been awesome. Meeting so many like-minded people who are so passionate and driven to a common cause has been super empowering." – Kartika Thamrin, Product Owner
Leadership Perspective

CommBank Chief Technology Officer Rodrigo Castillo said "The Seattle Tech Hub is providing our technologists with the opportunity to learn and advance their careers in the heart of one of the world's leading tech ecosystems.
“Our teams are collaborating closely with AWS and Microsoft to test and experiment with AI. The excitement and opportunity amongst our team is real, and we’re bringing what we learn back to explore ways to accelerate how we deliver for our customers."
