The Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Bank, Ian Narev, today announced the resignation of Rob De Luca, Managing Director of Bankwest. Mr De Luca will leave the Group before the end of the year.
Mr De Luca has been with the Commonwealth Bank Group since 2000 and during that time he has occupied several senior executive positions in Perth, Sydney and Auckland. He was appointed Managing Director of Bankwest in April 2012.
Under his leadership, Bankwest has continued its successful transition since Commonwealth Bank acquired it in 2008. Its customer advocacy, operational efficiency and position in the WA community have all improved significantly.
Mr Narev said: “We greatly appreciate Rob’s contribution to the CBA Group over 16 years. Bankwest has performed very well under his leadership. We wish Rob all the very best as he pursues the next phase of his career.”
Mr De Luca said: “It has been a privilege to have played a role in the Group since 2000. I have witnessed CBA continue to set and achieve even higher standards. The strength of Bankwest and the quality of its talent give me the opportunity to start a new phase in my career.”
Mr Narev said that an announcement regarding a replacement for Mr De Luca would be made in due course.
