Applications have been filed in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia against the Commonwealth Bank which make allegations in relation to the bank’s EFTPOS tablet, Albert.
We’ve seen a lot of innovation in payments technologies in recent years, including a move to touchscreens, and accessibility for people who are blind or have low vision is an important issue. Albert uses a touchscreen and has an accessibility solution for people who are blind or have low vision.
Throughout the development of Albert, we worked collaboratively with both our technology partners, accessibility specialists and individuals with a range of vision loss to deliver the current accessibility solution. As Albert evolves, we will continue to look for the best possible solutions, harnessing emerging technology and innovation, to ensure consistent experiences for all our customers using the device.
As this matter is before the court, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.
